IR reverb on GPU

I’ve heard for long time about using graphic processing unit (GPU) on VGA card for audio processing. There might be something else before but this one is first one I know. Ingo Leif Software released the beta version of GPU Impluse Reverb v0.26 as VST effect for windows. It claimed that CPU consumption is nearly 0%, all the computing process will be on GPU. Nvidia GeForce 8xxx or higher is required. Unfortunately I’m using ATI adaptor on my PC (

GPU Impluse Reverb

GPU Impulse Reverb is freeware, can load stereo WAV files between 8 and 32bit, all VST2 compatible hosts can insert this plugin. Normally the reverb plugin is CPU hog, especially with impulse response method. I’ve no idea how good the GPU performance is, compare with dedicated DSP card for audio such as UAD1 or Powercore.
